DISCOUNTS AVAILABLE FOR LOW INCOME CUSTOMERS (LIFELINE PROGRAM)

XIT Rural Telephone Cooperative, Inc. and XIT Communications offer reduced rates to eligible residential consumers under the Lifeline Program. Lifeline provides monthly discounts to an eligible customerís basic local telephone or 10/1 Mbps or higher broadband Internet service. Customers who are eligible for the Lifeline Program are also eligible for toll blocking on their basic telephone service at no charge.

To be eligible for the Lifeline Program, a customerís annual household income must be at or below 135% of the federal poverty guidelines, or a customer must receive benefits from or have a child in the household who receives benefits from at least one of the following programs: Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP); Supplemental Security Income (SSI); Medicaid; Federal Public Housing Assistance (FPHA); or Veterans Pension and Survivors Benefit Program.

Lifeline is a government assistance program that is limited to one service discount per household. The discount can be applied for either landline telephone service, broadband Internet service (bundled voice and broadband packages also qualify), wireless telephone service or mobile broadband Internet service. The discount is not transferable to another customer.
